A
Little Bit
About Us
Everyone from a young age
always needed
someone who would always be sworn to secrecy on anything new that would
have discovered or experienced. We had ours and she was
always
reliable. But there were two things that were always
a sure bet; Scrubby would always listen to anything you had to say and
Scrubby never repeated a word to a soul. Yes, our Best Friend,
our Amigo, our Pal, our Bulldog. Needless to say, the bar was
set. We would always need a best friend and our best friend would
always need us. We were all cool. The idea of raising
Bulldogs actually came to us all at once. Years ago we had Bulldog but
do to a military move, Scrubby couldn't go with us. We were
heart
broken but we all knew it was the best all around decision.
Scrubby went to a great home where she lived a spoiled life any
princess deserved. As time went on, the military started
sending
a monthly retirement check, we had
purchased a home with plenty of space, and the idea of having more
children was completely out of the question. Then one evening
while at the dinner table our son suggested getting another Bulldog.
By the looks staring at each other from around the table, it
was
realized that plenty research was ahead of us. We had a
couple of
different breeds over twenty years but the Bulldog was truly special.
The internet has pretty much become the number one source of
information world wide. We were able to find out so much
about
Bulldogs including characteristics, personalities (though every Bulldog
owns the rights to
their own story!), possible medical issues, nutrition, local breeders,
upcoming events, even possible names. The mission started and
with plenty of ammunition, we were able to select a Bulldog that went
perfect with our family.
Needless to say, with time, consideration, and extensive
research, we have started raising Bulldogs. Yes, plural.
With four of us driving in this home, we all seem to grab one
when heading out the door. The Bulldogs love
it and our car windows get cleaned, well, sort of.
Socialization has been
implemented from the
start. We walk them often and this always produces
opportunities
for neighbors to “converse” with our dogs.
The local
pet store enjoys their company too. Even all the trips to the
veterinarian are an easy task knowing a biscuit will be rewarded for
sitting still on the scale. Come Halloween, the
“Dawg
Pound” is established in our front yard for the purpose of
distributing candy and a couple of barks. This is naturally a
neighborhood favorite display.
Yes, we brag about our Bulldogs. They are strong, healthy,
friendly, and smart! Our veterinarian administers all shots.
Their health is completely documented. They are
alert but
kind, fearless but gentle. If you are interested in this
breed,
let us know. We are more than happy to help with your
questions
and curiosity.
